General information

The conference is centered at the crossroads of Geometry and Partial Differential Equations, with topics including (but not limited to):

  • geometrically motivated problems in the Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations (e.g., harmonic, n-harmonic and p-harmonic maps,

  • H-systems, geometric curvature energies),

  • Harmonic Analysis and Nonlinear Potential Theory,

  • Geometric Analysis and Geometric Function Theory,

  • applications of the above in nonlinear elasticity theory, continuum mechanics etc.

A small celebration of Prof. Paweł Strzelecki’s birthday is planned during the event.

Funding is available: during registration you can apply to waive the conference fee. The deadline to apply for financial support is April 1st, 2023.

Participants supported by the organisers are expected to give a lightning talk and/or present a poster.

Details of organised transport from Poznań to Będlewo

BUS from Poznań Główny railway station

The meeting point for the BUS is so-called Dworzec Letni located outside the railway station. Look for the note Conference Będlewo. Be careful because the railway station in Poznan has a non-intuitive structure and you can get lost quickly - follow the directions on the following maps.

TAXI from Poznań Główny railway station

Meeting point is in the new building (marked red on the picture above), first floor, in the main hall next to cash desk number 1.

TAXI from Poznań Ławica airport

Meeting point is in in arrival hall next to the currency exchange point. Look for the driver holding a note Conference Będlewo or a note with your name.

About the Conference Center

Będlewo Conference Center is part of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IM PAN) and its Banach Center. Besides standard conference facilities, it offers discussion rooms with blackboards and flip charts, and it has a fitness room, a bar, a 24h reception desk, and free car parking. All rooms have private bathrooms.

The conference center is located in a XIX century neo-gothic palace, surrounded by a huge park. Swimming is possible in a nearby (3km) lake (although in October the water is rather cold).

Arrival and departure

Detailed information on the Center, including road/train arrival instructions, can be found here.

Transport from Będlewo back to Poznań will be organised around 1:30 p.m. on Friday (October 13th).

Additionally, Będlewo Center can organize a taxi from Poznań (airport, railway station PKP and PKS) to Będlewo. The approximate cost is 170 PLN.

Expenses

The conference fee is 1200 PLN or 250 EUR or 250 USD.

There is funding available for local costs: during registration you can apply to waive the conference fee. The deadline to apply for financial support is April 1st, 2023.

The conference fee covers accommodation, full day meals, bus transfers between Poznań and the Będlewo Conference Center, and the conference dinner.

The accomodation is provided by the Będlewo Conference Center.

In Poznań credit cards are widely accepted but in Będlewo one has to pay in cash (Polish Złoty; PLN).
